Our commitment to a greener future

Our Hosting Approach

As part of our pledge to sustainability, we host all new WordPress sites on servers powered by renewable energy. We are currently utilising Amazon Web Services (AWS) in their London region, which is making strides toward sustainability. According to the Green Web Foundation and by a limited independent third party assurance from Ernst and Young, the annual energy consumption of this hosting region is 100% attributable to renewable energy.

Our Green Hosting Sustainability Pledges

We are proud to outline our key pledges to sustainability:

1. Green Servers for New Sites: All new WordPress sites are hosted on green servers. By choosing servers powered by renewable energy, we reduce the carbon footprint associated with our digital operations.
2. Transitioning Existing Clients: We aim to transition 60% of our existing client sites onto green servers. This ongoing effort ensures that our current clients also benefit from our commitment to sustainability.

Future Investments: In the longer term, we plan to investigate and move our hosting infrastructure to a B Corp organisation. We are inspired by the work of other B Corp hosting providers such as Positive Internet Company and Krystal Hosting, and we aim to collaborate with these like-minded organisations to further our sustainability goals.

Supporting Local Ecosystems

In addition to our green hosting initiatives, we partner with the tree planting organisation Plant 1 to support local woodland. This partnership not only helps to offset our carbon footprint but also contributes to the preservation and expansion of local ecosystems.

To ensure we are making meaningful progress, we measure our carbon footprint regularly. This measurement allows us to understand our environmental impact and identify areas where we can improve.
