Bespoke software development in Bristol

Most software almost fits. You bend your process to match it, bolt on a spreadsheet to cover the gaps, and train everyone to click through the bits that don’t quite make sense. It works, sort of. We think you deserve better than “sort of”. Our software developers and designers build software that fits your business properly – shaped around the people who’ll use it and what you’re trying to achieve, not the other way round.

Bespoke software development

Solving complex problems through bespoke software

“Bespoke software” can sound like a fancy way of saying complicated. It’s the opposite. When off-the-shelf tools can’t handle the tricky bits of how your business actually works, bespoke software steps in to make things simpler, not harder – built to solve your specific problems and give you a real edge. No unnecessary bells and whistles. Just software that does exactly what you need, and does it well.

The project had many complex objectives but that only fuelled the motivation and commitment of the team… Their agility, responsiveness and understanding for various user groups and their unique challenges was exactly what we needed, and they have been a pleasure to work with.

Solving complex problems through bespoke software

From a first idea to a finished product, our software developers build the tools that off-the-shelf can’t quite manage. A few of the things we’re regularly asked for:

From idea to launch

How we work

Every project’s different, but the way we work stays reassuringly consistent. Here’s what to expect.

Discovery – We start by getting to know your business properly: the problem you’re actually trying to solve, your goals, and – crucially – the people who’ll use the thing. No code gets written until we understand who it’s for. Learn more about discovery

Design – Next we map it out and show you. Our UX/UI design work is about making software that’s genuinely easy to use, not just nice to look at – so every screen earns its place and nothing gets in your users’ way.

Build – With the design agreed, our developers bring it to life with clean, well-built code. We work in an Agile way – short cycles, regular check-ins – so you see progress as it happens and we can adjust as we go, rather than disappearing for months and hoping for the best.

Launch and iterate – We get your software live, then keep going. Real people start using it, we listen to how it’s landing, and we refine from there. Software’s never really “finished” – it grows with your business, and we help it do that.

Case study: The Wave

The Wave, a groundbreaking inland surfing lagoon in Bristol that opened in 2019, faced unique challenges that required bespoke digital solutions. Hiyield stepped in to transform their digital infrastructure, improving several key aspects of their operation:

  • Booking service: Streamlined the booking process to handle high volumes of traffic and bookings efficiently.
  • Customer check-in process: Redesigned the check-in process for better speed and user experience.
  • Digital waiver system: Implemented a digital waiver system to reduce paperwork and enhance data security.
  • Website development: Created two new websites that improved customer interaction and service availability.
  • Customer experience: Overall enhancements were made to uplift The Wave’s customer interaction and satisfaction.
