The solution

A bespoke website unlocks marketing potential and creates a virtual surf experience.

Up next, levelling up their core website

“We needed a website that was fit for purpose, unlike our old website, which we could not make big development changes to. Our key goals were to improve the customer experience through better navigation and to have a website that better represented our brand.”
– Chloe Hughes, Marketing Manager at The Wave

Unlocking The Wave’s website potential

The Wave wanted complete autonomy over its website’s content and one that would be able to grow as they do. So an easy-to-use, flexible content management system (CMS) is a must.

WordPress is said to be the best CMS for many reasons. For one, the interface is easy to use, and second, it’s very customisable. So WordPress was the perfect choice for The Wave’s new website.

Strong use of video and imagery

The design team at Hiyield suggested a variety of design routes. The most important design choice was the use of videography and photography, paving the way for the new web design, echoing the look and feel of the brand.

Increasing revenue through group bookings

The Wave team supplied a new Information Architecture, where the CTO of the project, Matt Ville, worked with Chloe and the rest of the team to make sure no opportunity was missed.

A big win from the discovery phase was for The Wave to enhance the visibility of bulk bookings – a core revenue stream for The Wave. Therefore, a suggestion from Matt was to create a page called ‘Groups’ on the main navigation bar (see image below), enhancing the visibility of bulk bookings that a user can purchase, such as Corporate Away Days, Venue hire or Educational Purposes.

Customising WordPress for ease of use

The Wave signed off all the final emends of the design, and it was now time for development. Hiyield’s in-house Full Stack WordPress developers coded the bespoke web design and hooked it into WordPress to customise the interface for The Wave team.

The results

The Wave’s new online experience

The Wave’s new website is now live with an immersive design that reflects the onsite experience from the get-go! Not to mention, Chloe and the Team at The Wave have complete control over their site, where they can create new pages for campaigns, run promotions, or even carry our A/B tests for better conversions.
