Protecting our oceans is an urgent priority, and Bloomberg Philanthropies wanted to do more than just raise awareness – they wanted to spark a global movement.
Together for the Ocean became that rallying point: a campaign uniting governments, NGOs, businesses, and citizens around one goal – taking real, measurable action to protect our marine environments. To bring this global mission to life, Bloomberg partnered with Greenhouse Communications and us to build a digital platform that could inspire, inform, and engage audiences worldwide.

The campaign was ambitious, and the timing was absolutely critical. With major milestones like the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) in Nice on the horizon, Bloomberg and Greenhouse needed a platform that could truly do it all.
They needed a digital home that could:
- Connect everyone from UN leaders to local coastal communities
- Share news, events, and impact updates the moment they happen
- Showcase live data from partners like Lime Bike to make real-world action visible
- Speak multiple languages to ensure nobody is left out of the conversation
- Provide a credible, inspiring hub for ocean protection that turns a complex global initiative into an accessible experience
The website had to be as bold, energised, and globally minded as the campaign itself.

The solution: a vibrant platform built for impact
We teamed up with the wonderful Greenhouse team to design and build a bespoke WordPress website that brought the Together for the Ocean vision to life online.
Collaboration and design
The process was a true partnership. By combining Greenhouse’s strategists and writers with our own developers and designers, we created a digital space that has been described as a “moodboard for the ocean”. The result is a vibrant, ocean-inspired design that perfectly reflects the campaign’s energy and optimism

- Dynamic news and events hub: A place to share stories and resources instantly
- Live data integration: Real-time Lime Bike data to visualise measurable impact
- Multilingual support: Using WPML to ensure the message reaches a global audience
- High-performance hosting: Seamless support during the high-profile UNOC launch to ensure the site performed flawlessly under pressure
- Bespoke interactive components: Custom-built interactive elements that allow users to engage with the campaign’s key pillars and pledges
The development of the Together for the Ocean website was a real collaborative effort and the results speak for themselves. Combining graphic designers, strategists and writers from the Greenhouse team with developers, designers and project managers from the Hiyield team led to the development of a truly beautiful, accessible and impactful website. The website has been cited as a moodboard for the ocean and the place to visit for the latest info on ocean protection.

- Huge engagement: Over 23,000 website users and 57,000 page views
- Social movement: More than 12 million social media impressions and 6 million video views
- Global reach: Over 1,000 media articles and 20,000 LinkedIn followers
- Measurable impact: Over 320,000 web events, proving that awareness really does lead to action
- A unified hub: Successfully united global audiences and showcased real-world change – one click and one pledge at a time
