Why aren’t the good things labelled in life?
StepJockey started as an idea, when one day, an original founder of StepJockey heard her daughter mention ‘why aren’t the good things labelled in life’. As a nutritional expert, this sparked an idea to address just that. Why not label the benefits of exercise in our day-to-day. This moved on to the idea of helping to encourage people to simply take the stairs through labelling health benefits, as stair use has a substantial benifits on health.
This was the start of an idea that then became StepJockey. A wellness programme that utilised stairs, signs, technology and much more.
The idea was for StepJockey to utilise the health benefits of using stairs within the workplace by labelling them with QR codes that are scannable, and therefore, giving the ability to track steps within a building. At the start, StepJockey was seed-funded by the UK Department of Health to help combat sedentary behaviour.
At this stage, StepJockey founders were building a team and looking to partner with a tech agency that would help bring in the infrastructure and have the knowledge to consult on how best to create this the digital product. This is where we come in!
